Urgent Medical Assistance/ Out of Hours/ HUB

If you have a life-threatening medical emergency please dial 999.

NHS 111 now provides advice and out of hours cover for Wigan

Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobiles

HUB/GP Alliance on 01942 482848 – Routine GP appointments Monday to Friday evenings and weekends.

Please avoid contacting the out of hours service for repeat medication unless absolutely unavoidable – contact your usual pharmacy for assistance.

Evenings/ Over-Night/ Weekends

Please ring 999 for all Emergency matters – e.g. for chest pain/suspected stroke/accidents requiring hospital and other life threatening medical emergencies

Call NHS111 for non life threatening matters, they provide advice and can arrange for you to be seen out of hours

Leigh NHS Urgent Care Centre offers fast and convenient treatment by experienced, specially trained nurses.

Treating minor illnesses or injuries such as:

• Sore throats or flu-like symptoms

• Infections or rashes

• Viral illnesses

• Minor burns, cuts or wounds

• Fractures, sprains and x-rays of upper/lower limbs

• Eye problems

• Minor head injuries

You don’t need to book an appointment to be treated in a walk-in centre, but if their are a number of other patients who also need treatment, you may have a long wait to be seen by a doctor./Accident Emergency Departments appropriately.
